Nancy Hays & The Heffernans (featuring Nancy Hays, Mary and Caroline Heffernan on vocals and Matt Heffernan on vocals and fiddle), have performed as a live group act in concert, and also on recordings and television shows. They have made multiple appearances together at Grant Park's Chicago’s Summerdance and on stage at Freedom Hall and other performing arts center venues with their Classic Family Christmas Show as well as for private events and the Easter brunch at the Orrington Hotel in Evanston.
Nancy Hays & The Heffernan have released five singles; Light in the Winter, Mr. Santa, Mr. Sandman, Two-Step 'Round the Christmas Tree, and Christmas Time's a Comin'. The music and Nancy’s lead vocals for all these songs were recorded in Nashville with harmony vocals and Matt’s fiddle solos recorded in Chicago area studios. Their producer, Randy Gardner is also based in Nashville. Two of the songs, Light in the Winter (written and arranged by Michael Mahler) and Mr. Santa (remake of an old classic) were featured in guest appearances and performances by the group on WCIU TV’s You and Me This Morning in Chicago. All four of these songs have line dances written to them by well known line dance choreographers (see line dance sheets and videos at www.NancyHays.com).
Nancy Hays & The Heffernan’s music video for Mr. Santa was directed by Edward Heffernan (Nancy’s other son) and has received rotation in several national video channels, including The Heartland Network.
The group plans to continue performing and recording together whenever possible in the future!
